Washing washing EVERYWHERE!
June 27th, 2007
I am so sick of washing! In particularly folding it and putting it away. Cause Charley has been over the last week or so, the clean washing has been just piling up at the end of the bed and yesterday I just couldn’t bare to hunt through it for a pair of socks, so I put a movie on and began the arduous task of getting through it.
And it took me an hour and a half, and I am still not finished. There is another load in the machine and cause of the rain another lot in the dryer. And all the socks still need sorting and the hanging clothes need hanging.
Someone shoot me - or come over and sort out my washing!!

I know exactly how you feel, came home from the weekend away to piles of washing to be done, more soggy stuff on the line as it had rained while we were away and last weeks ironing still waiting to be done. I too, just had to bite the bullet and do something about it….now I only have about three loads still to do, one to hang out and more stuff to fold…and I thought I was getting somewhere….why is it that washing grows at a quicker rate than the kids??
Keep battling, only another 30 years or so til they leave home and the load lessens
Hi, I finally got back to my blog, thanks for your comments. Can I offer some words of wisdom about the washing? Develop a strategy to keep you on track so you don’t get the “big job” that is still going. I often use the joke “How do you eat an elephant? - One bite at a time.” Breaking it down really helps. As I work 4 days a week I only have Wednesday to get the whole week done - so I built a strategy of folding all the clothes throughout the day on my bed - so I have get them to each childs door, into my our wardrobe or into the ironing basket before I can go to bed. Some nights I’m really dragging me feet delivering each pile for them to put away but then I know I don’t have to do anything for the rest of the evening and can put me feet up.
Yep I know how you feel, I do washing everyday just so I can keep on top of it lol
getting kids to put their own washing away is great. I gave Molly Bear a pile of her clean washing and she had a great time rolling in it. then i tried to teach her to put it in the basket. all went well until she put the basket on her head. perhaps 10 months is a little young?? ah well, the big kids can put their own washing away.
